

Frequently asked questions
A. Yes your pet will have access to 24/7 vet care if at any point we have the slightest concern about your pet's health, we will contact your specified vet (where possible during business hours) or our own vet. Your pet is insured while staying with Thrift End Farm Kennels & Cattery. Any vet visits that your pet has to have will be added to your final bill, and you will be given a letter to say what treatment your pet has had and why. Your pet will get regular exercise and attention.

Exceptions will only be made for emergencies, e.g. people going to the hospital, floods/fires in the home, delays on the roads, trains or flights. We will ask you to let us know what is going on, and we will do what we can to help.
Only day where closed to the public is Christmas Day.
A. Please feel free to bring toys with you; however, do not bring anything of sentimental value, as toys are often lost or destroyed. We cannot be held responsible for, replace, or compensate for lost articles. Any toys we deem unsafe for your pet will be removed from the kennels or cattery. Also, if your pet begins to chew the toy excessively we will also remove them to reduce the chance of ingestion of small pieces or squeakers.

Activity my change depending on days. All the dogs and cats in are care are checked on regular. Water top up is throughout the day and the cats have their biscuits topped up regular if applicable.
Cattery

We live on site so they are check on 12 hours a day.
A.
- Prices are dependent on the breed & size of your dogs.
- Cats prices are dependent on how may cats you own.
- Each price will have VAT added on. Also, you have to pay a deposit over the phone or in person if you come to view. This is typically half the total if more than 5 days under 5 days you pay in full up front. Then the rest of the cost is payed on departure for the kennels or cattery. You pay for each day (arrival, departure and all the days in between).
Also, their is a charge if your pet is on veterinary prescribed medication (excluding Yumove) this is a £1.00 per day (Tablets) £2.00 per day (injections)
We also require you to make a note somewhere e.g. a diary or calendar of the days you book into the kennels or cattery as we cannot remind you as we get a lot of footfall through are doors.
Late cancellations will not get the deposit back. Exemptions will be made for the ill health of the pet/owner or the death of a pet. NO SHOWS will be charged in full.
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prier to arrival date if you cancel there are two options:
Money back minus £25.00 admin
Bounce onto another holiday.
Deposit is 50% at time of booking.
A. All fees are payable either in advance or prior to departure. Payment can be made by the following:
1) Cash
2) Debit/credit card (payments can also be taken over the phone)
Please take the time to read our terms and conditions carefully. By making a booking with us, you confirm that you have received, read, understood and agree to be bound by these. Once you have made a booking with us (or someone authorised to represent you), you agree to be bound by our terms.
A. Yes, our medical terms state that you must agree :
1. To supply full details of any medication/treatment your pet is receiving,
2. To allow your vet to divulge any information about your pet’s medical history to us.
3. We may contact our vet if we think that treatment is required for your pet 4. You will be liable for any veterinary or medical costs incurred during your pet’s stay with us.
5. That you will be liable for any damage or injury caused by your pet to property, equipment or persons.
6. To inform us of any aggressive or anti-social tendencies your pet may exhibit.
7. That you will not hold us responsible for or ask us to replace or compensate for lost articles.
8. Due to the unpredictability of animal behaviour, we do not accept any liability or injury to your pet except where such injury or damage arises directly from our negligence. YOU MUST INFORM US of any health, medical or behavioural problems that your pet may have.

Dogs require annual boosters (core vaccinations)
- Canine Distemper
- Infectious Canine Hepatitis
- Leptospirosis
- Canine Parvovirus
Additional Required Vaccination:
- Kennel Cough
This is a separate vaccination, which is often given as a nasal spray (And must be administered at least 2 WEEKS before boarding) WE DO NOT INSIST ON THIS VACCINATION.
Cats required annual booster (core Vaccinations)
- Feline Enteritis (Feline Panleukopenia)
- Feline herpesuirus and feline calicivirus
- Feline leukaemia virus (FeLV)
We will need to see your dogs / cats vaccination book or passport so we can take a photo copy of proof of vaccination. (Every time your pet come to stay).
If your dog is exempt from receiving certain booster vaccination if your vet has deemed your pet of having previous history of severe allergic reactions or an existing illness that could be exacerbated by the vaccine. We would need to see proof either a written email or letter from your veterinarian or you could have a titre test to tell how good your dogs/ cats immunity is.
